The Nine Four Running Together Across a Reborn Cape Town
The Nine Four was born in 2013 when photographer Paul returned to Cape Town inspired by a running crew he'd joined in Berlin. He founded the crew with friends, naming it after 1994, the year South Africa became a democracy. What started as a small group has grown into a unlikely mix of members from across Cape Town's communities, united by a single belief: ego stays at the door. At The Nine Four, running becomes a space free from status and pressure, where society's divisions dissolve into shared effort and connection. Two to three times a week, members gather at the HQ to chase a white rabbit through one of the world's most spectacular running cities, together.
