Who We Are

Spartan Sundays Run Club began in 2011 when two Brooklyn friends started training together for an obstacle course race. What started as a personal challenge evolved into a thriving community united by shared struggle and victory. Today, 40 to 50 runners aged 4 to 73 gather every Sunday in Prospect Park, from elite athletes to injury comebacks to first-timers, all training side by side. Spartan Sundays operates on a simple philosophy: Conquer your obstacles. Above it, around it, through it. Keep finding a way. Here, running and OCR are not just sports, they are life lessons. Free two-hour Sunday workouts prepare you for mud runs and road races, with Thursday sessions in Prospect Park adding another chance to move, push, and connect together.
