Yoga and Sport With Refugees Running to Escape and Belong in Lesvos
Yoga and Sport With Refugees started in 2017 at Moria camp with two runners determined to create space for movement and freedom. What began as a lifeline in one of Greece's most overcrowded refugee camps has grown into a crew of 30 people running together across Lesvos. Founders built something rare: a place where refugees and locals run side by side on trails, mountains, and roads, transforming physical movement into an act of dignity and resistance. Members have since relocated across Athens and Europe, but they carry the crew's spirit with them. Twice weekly gatherings at Spanos Club anchor the community, Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, turning each run into something far more than exercise.
