Thesis Run Cru Building Urban Running Culture in Soweto
Thesis Run Cru was born in Soweto in 2014 when founder Wandile launched the crew at the Soweto Marathon Bridge The Gap event with a mission to get the youth moving together. Today, between 50 and 100 runners gather weekly at Eyethu Lifestyle Centre for Saturday morning runs at 07:00 and evening sessions at 18:00. The crew's philosophy is clear: running is not life, but a perfect balance to a good life. A healthy body feeds a healthy mind. Thesis Run Cru proves that Soweto's running culture is alive, growing, and welcoming to everyone. They anchor their year with signature events like the June 16 Run and the Heri-Night Run, cementing their place as a vital thread in Soweto's fitness community.
