Flames Barcelona Burning Bright for Running Culture in Catalonia
Flames Barcelona started in May 2018 when three runners, Aitor, Fabien, and Oualid, decided to formalize a friendship that had been burning for two years. They met while running through Barcelona in 2016 and saw a gap, a void where a real running crew could thrive. No one was doing this in Spain, so they built it themselves, around twenty strong, small enough that everyone knows each other. The crew runs for the pure pleasure of it, with fun first and community always. Every Tuesday at 19:25, they gather at Box Barcelona and take the city as their course, the spirit of Sant Jordi's dragon always somewhere in the background. Nothing commercial, nothing forced, just genuine friendship built one evening at a time.
