Aphrodite Running Club Bringing Style and Community to Sunderland Streets
Aphrodite Running Club emerged in May 2023 from an unlikely place, a menswear store in Sunderland where a solo runner of 13 years finally discovered the community he had been seeking. With around 25 members now gathering every Tuesday at 6pm, the club operates on a philosophy of complete accessibility, no fees, no pace requirements, no barriers. From first-timers lacing up for the first time to sub-three-hour marathoners, everyone belongs here. The club's weekly five-kilometre run starts outside Aphrodite Clothing, winding through Sunderland's coastal streets, built on the conviction that running, at its heart, is for everyone.
