Join Running Mafia: The Running Crew That Became a Family
Running is often considered a solitary activity. It’s you, your heart beating, and the rhythmic sound of your feet hitting the pavement. But what if it could be more than that? What if there was a way to connect with like-minded individuals who share the same passion for running and create a sense of community while doing so? That’s where Running Mafia comes in.
The Foundation of Running Mafia
Founded in March 2019 in Mexico City by Erick, Running Mafia started as a small group tired of feeling like just another number in traditional running clubs. They wanted a community that felt more human and supportive, where they could pursue their personal goals without sacrificing the importance of camaraderie.
The Value of a Running Family
For Running Mafia, being more human means having a personalized training plan designed by Coach Beto, which considers each member’s objectives. But it also means having a support system that extends beyond training sessions. Members offer each other support and encouragement, whether running together or through various social media platforms. They also provide a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on when life gets tough, both on and off the track.
Breaking Down Barriers Together
The beauty of Running Mafia lies in its emphasis on growth, both as runners and as individuals. Members are encouraged to break down personal barriers and strive to become better versions of themselves. This doesn’t mean that Running Mafia is about being the best on the team. Instead, it’s about challenging oneself to become a better runner and person while supporting others to do the same.
Running Mafia – A Comprehensive Support System
Running Mafia’s support system extends beyond just its members. Axicon Sorts and Care is a group of professional physiotherapists and masseurs who help runners prepare for and recover from races. There is also a team dedicated to hydration and nutrition, providing support during official competitions and training sessions every weekend. With Running Mafia, runners have access to a comprehensive network of support that caters to all their needs.
More Than a Running Club
Running Mafia isn’t just a running club; it’s a family. With over 100 members, it’s a community that’s continually growing. Members gather every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at TELMEX and every Sunday at 7:00 am at Av. TELMEX to train, share stories, and support one another. But Running Mafia isn’t just about training together. It’s about forging connections and creating a lifestyle centred around the love of running and the joy of being part of a transnational social phenomenon.
