Discover Auckland’s Running Scene with Neighbourhood Track Club
Neighbourhood Track Club was founded in early 2020 by Kyal and Conor in Auckland City. They aimed to break the stereotype of traditional run clubs by creating a more welcoming and inclusive community for runners of all levels. Many of their friends were already running daily but without a sense of belonging to any specific running community.
Customized Mixtapes and More
Their vision for Neighbourhood Track Club is to be more than just a running club. They aim to create a balanced social community off the pavement, where runners can connect through running, music, and culture. In addition to hosting regular meetups, they create customized mixtapes for their runners to enjoy outside of these events and post approved running styles to their social media platforms.
Fortnightly Run Club: The Monday Reset
The Monday Reset is the fortnightly run club event that Neighbourhood Track Club hosts to kickstart their community. This event is open to everyone, regardless of fitness level, and aims to give runners a fresh start to the week. Inclusiveness is a top priority, and pacers are available to cater to runners of different speeds. More information on The Monday Reset can be found on their website.
We come together in pursuit of balance, community and culture.
Breaking the Stereotype with Neighbourhood Track Club
One of the main objectives of the Neighbourhood Track Club is to break the elitist stigma surrounding running and running clubs. They believe that running should be accessible to everyone and anyone wanting to take part. Their goal is to create a welcoming and supportive community, regardless of one’s experience or fitness level.
Neighbourhood Track Club also recognizes that music, style, and innovation play a role in a runner’s lifestyle. As a result, they use their platform to showcase the talented musical curators, leading sportswear brands, and iconic city features that they are exposed to as Auckland residents.
Neighbourhood Track Club’s Summer Sessions
The Neighbourhood Summer Sessions are free, all-inclusive run events held from February to May. These events are open to anyone, whether running for the first time or seasoned pros. They allow runners to connect with like-minded individuals and experience the joys of running together.
Under the Auckland Harbour Bridge
The Monday Reset event occurs every two weeks, on Monday at 6:30 pm, under Auckland Harbour Bridge, City Side. Runners can choose from pacers running at different speeds to suit their needs and can choose to run a distance of either 4km, 6km, or 8km.
