BiakBecicak was originally founded by Dirga and four other friends with the aim to train themselves to register as a police officer in Ketapang, Indonesia.
Pretty fast, other runners joined their training sessions. The number of runners increased and increased, so they came up with the idea to form a running community. Since 2017 they are running on the streets of their hometown on the island of Borneo.
“Biak” means children or boys, “Becicak” means running, so BiakBecicak means boys who love running.
